Made from coffee liqueur, vodka and Irish cream, the mudslide cocktail is the ultimate boozy dessert drink.
Legend has it that the famous mudslide cocktail was created at the Wreck Bar, a popular bar and restaurant located in the picturesque Cayman Islands. The recipe for this delicious cocktail is super simple: one part coffee liqueur, one part vodka, and one part Irish cream. It is typically served over ice and enjoyed as a dessert drink due to its sweet and creamy flavor. Although it goes down easy, this cocktail packs a punch. It’s worth noting that there is no virgin mudslide—take away the booze and all that remains is ice!

Best wishes on your cookbook. I have 3 teen boys that love to eat. Would love your tip(s) on how you stay fit with all your tempting recipes? My sons need calorie rich food, but I don’t.
The Mudslides are great frozen treat too!
Is there anything that can substitute for the Kahlula? Love Bailey’s, but not a coffee fan.
Enjoy your vacation!
Thanks,
June
Hi June, I think you could definitely use rum. And thank you!
Thanks for asking that – I’m the same! I have all three of those ingredients, lol – rum, vodka and Bailey’s. I’ll give it a try.
I was actually wondering about Sambucca replacing the Kahlua – Sambucca and Bailey’s is wonderful together!
Hi Sandra, Sambucca has a very different flavor than Kahlua so it wouldn’t naturally occur to me to use it here. But if you like the combination of Sambucca and Bailey’s, it’s worth a try. Please LMK what you think if you try it!
Congratulations Jen! I for one can hardly wait for it to hit the shelves. I love every recipe that I’ve tried from your site. This drink sounds delicious.
Thank you, Sandi!
